Welcome to the new-look Dudley Radio Car Club website!
Dudley Radio Car Club welcomes members of all ages to come and race electric cars of all classes and sizes at Coseley School and Leisure center,Henne Drive off Ivyhouse Lane, Coseley. Club meetings are held on Friday nights from 7.00pm onwards where thrilling racing, a friendly atmosphere and delicious cut-priced refreshments await. We aim to race three rounds per class, followed by a final round if time permits. Racers are asked to turn up as early as possible to help lay the track to allow racing to commence by 8pm. We try to accomodate all variations of electric class where possible. We also hold regular weekend meetings and charity events, and are currently holding a Winter Series consisting of five weekend meetings. Lap times and race results are recorded to within one hundredth of a second using a state of the art AMB timing system. The results of both our weekly club meetings and weekend events can be found within the Fixtures & Results page. Racers young and old are invited to come and spectate and chat with our friendly members, who are always happy to offer advice if you are contemplating buying a car and taking up the hobby. Our new website represents an exciting transitional phase for the club as we strive to recruit new members and improve our racing facilities. Why not come down and see what its all about for yourself? Please enjoy our promotional video, depiciting typical club racing action: |

DRCC now has a YouTube powered Video Gallery where members can review footage from club events, and those new to the hobby can see what it's all about. The gallery is accessible from the main menu to the left, or directly via this link. You can also keep up to date by subscribing to the DRCC YouTube News Feed.
We're a bit underpopulated at the moment, but this will change over time. If you have any videos that you would like to see included then please speak to Andrew Fletcher. A big thanks to Stephen Cockburn for his hard work on implementing this. |

The Club has decided to change the booking in procedure for club nights, in light of the recent membership growth. The numbers wanting to race are increasing, which is great news for the continued success of the club, but we are struggling for time to setup, book in and then get sufficient races completed. This change is effective from Friday 6th February and has been made to improve the running of night club meetings. Drivers will now be required to book-in in advance of 7pm Friday night. Doors will continue to open at 7pm as normal. New drivers wishing to race at the club can attend without prior booking the first week only. To book in to race before 6pm on the Friday you wish to race: 1. Book in at the club when racing or being a spectator the week before hand (easiest method). 2. Call our dedicated booking in answer phone service on 01384 467 892 before 6pm on the Friday you wish to race. To book in to race after 6pm, but before 7pm on the Friday you with to race: 1. Send a Text Message Roy on 07870 669 532 2. Phone Roy on 07870 669 532, please only use this option if you are unable to send a text message. If for any reason you cannot make the Friday meeting that you have booked in for and paid, your monies will be held, but only if you let Roy know before 7pm on the night that you are not attending. You can then use this credit the next time you book in. Members are politely requested to turn up as soon as possible after 7pm to help prepare the track - with the revised booking in system there is a greater need to set the circuit up even faster, so please try to trun up on time and help out - it will allow us to hold more races per night. To help Club Members with these changes, racing on Friday 6th February 2009 will be free! You can use your racing fee to book in for the following week's racing on Friday 13th February. Thank you. |

Things are moving along pretty rapidly at the moment, and Dudley Radio Car Club is proud to present it's shiny new Gallery and Calendar pages.
The Gallery is no ordinary Gallery - photos are not stored on the DRCC server but instead a Flickr account, of which many DRCC members may already be familiar with. Soon, club members will be able to upload their photos to the clubs Flickr account and they will automatically appear in the clubs Gallery section. A neat way to show off your new bodyshell! The Calendar will display not only DRCC events but other RC events of interest to racers. Clicking an entry will display more detail and a map to the race location. Now you won't have to add all those dates to your diary, you can check them out here. Its early days yet, but you get the idea - check out the spangly new Gallery and Calendar sections here and here respectively. Update - You can now upload photos to the DRCC Gallery - find out how here. |
